FARM  TOUR

5. BABY KIWI
The fruit first appears in May, after the petals fall
off. This fruit will grow during the warm summer
months, until it matures around the first part of
October.

6. MID-SEASON PICTURE
The warm, dry climate of Central California is
ideally suited for the growth and development
of this fuzzy fruit. Summer's long, warm days
assure the sweetness and flavor of our California
kiwifruit.

7. KIWI HARVEST
The mature fruit is picked by hand in the fall and
brought to the packing shed in large bins.

8. KIWI PACKING
After arrival at the packing shed, the bins are
dumped onto the packing line where the fruit is
brushed, graded, sized and packed into various
shipping containers. The fruit is graded by hand
and sized by electronic, computerized sizers. The
entire kiwifruit crop is harvested and packed within
about six weeks, between the end of September and
the middle ov November.
