FARM  TOUR

9. KIWI PALLETS
Once the fruit is picked and packed, it goes into
cold storage until it is sold. Kiwifruit is stored at
33 degrees F.

10. KIWIFRUIT GOING TO MARKET
Kiwifruit can be stored safely for up to six months
before it must be consumed. Due to kiwifruit's high
sensitivity to ethelyne, it needs to be stored away
from any other fruit that tends to have high production
of ethelyne (ie. citrus, apples, bananas). The fruit is
moved to various markets in refrigerated trucks or
shipped overseas in refrigerated ocean containers.

11. STORE PICTURE
Once the kiwifruit is shipped to a receiver, it is then
distributed to consumer outlets (ie. your local
supermarket, grocery store or farmer's market) where
it is display and ultimately sold to consumers.

12. KIWI BEING EATEN
There are many ways to enjoy the flavor and wholesomeness
of kiwifruit. Kiwifruit can be used as a meat tenderizer or it
can be enjoyed as a fresh fruit or in any one of many different
recipes. Please see our "Fruit Cookbook" section and try any
of our tasty kiwifruit recipes.
